Funding Opportunities

SportNI aim to launch a new funding scheme this year to replace the 'Awards for All' programme. The SportNI website states;

"Sport Northern Ireland is committed to and recognises the importance of small grants being accessible for the sports sector. It is envisaged that a new Sport Northern Ireland small grants programme will be launched during 2009. Further information will be available in due course."

 We will keep our clubs updated on any developments.

 

Another funding opportunity is currently on offer from Comic Relief through the "UnLtd Sports Relief Awards".

This funding, from £1,000 to £10,000 is for individual young people who will use sport to overcome a local issue and bring people together.

 

For clubs who want to maximise the impact of donations they already receive, consideration should be given to Gift Aid for Charitable Organisations. This scheme enables charities to reclaim an additional 28% from Revenue and Customs on donations made by basic rate taxpayers. Higher Rate taxpayers can also reclaim the top slice of their tax on any donations.
